Chief Executive Officer of Bayer HealthCare
Dr. Jörg Reinhardt has been Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bayer HealthCare since August 15, 2010. Bayer HealthCare, a subgroup of Bayer AG, is one of the world’s leading, innovative companies in the healthcare and medical products industry. The company combines the global activities of the Animal Health, Consumer Care, Medical Care and Pharmaceuticals divisions.
Dr. Jörg Reinhardt, born on March 11, 1956 in Homburg in the German state of Saarland, studied pharmaceutical sciences at Saarland University in Saarbrücken. After obtaining his doctorate in 1981, he started his career with Sandoz, which became part of Novartis in 1996, holding various managerial positions of increasing responsibility, including Global Head of Pharma Development and CEO of the Vaccines & Diagnostics Division. In 2008 he became Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Novartis group.
In April 2012, Reinhardt was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Lonza Group AG in Basel, Switzerland. Lonza is a global company that provides products and services to the life sciences industry.
Furthermore Reinhardt is a member of the Council of the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations (IFPMA).
Jörg Reinhardt is married and has two grown-up children.
